The purpose of the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority (NDA) is to deliver the decommissioning and clean-up of the UK's civil nuclear legacy, in a safe and cost effective manner.
The main decommissioning activity takes place at Sellafield, Dounreay, the Research sites of Harwell and Winfrith and the Magnox Nuclear Power Stations.
View our servicesThe current fleet of Nuclear stations are approaching the end of their lifecycle and are due to be replaced by new reactors that will be provided by Hitachi, Areva and Westinghouse. Others may also join the Generic Design Approval (GDA) process which ratifies the reactor safety.
There may be as many as twelve new reactors built in the UK by 2030 at a cost of c£8b per reactor.
